About Us - Why Georgia Millworks?
Georgia Millworks is a family owned and operated business that was founded over twenty-five years ago by Cecil Jones. Through his honest and faithful service to
Georgia Millworks Cecil established many relationships with the future leading builders in the Atlanta market in the 1980’s. After building houses himself for thirty years he began to see an increasing demand for finishing millwork items in the new housing markets. With housing plans changing rapidly at that time he introduced a new column product that had not yet been seen before in the Atlanta area. Many architects began to draft his columns and other specialty millworks into their renderings for new house elevations.
Cecil saw his business grow exponentially through out the years by offering excellent service, quality products and affordable pricing for his customers. As the 1990’s began his nephew Brian Stamps began to get involved in the family business as an apprentice with the help of Parkview High Schools DECA Program. Brian had the unique opportunity to get involved at a young age, with his innovative ideas and youthful energy it created a whole new attitude and direction for the company’s future. Brian’s early work experience in life would lead to be beneficial when Cecil passed away 1998 after a long battle with Cancer. Brian began to oversee the day to day operations and still continues to do so today.
As the 1990’s came to a close the new millennium brought in a whole new concept for the company and top of the line material options like Koma PVC and Extera. With those two products Georgia Millworks has been able to redefine the company with other alternatives to wood products. With the help of Dixie Plywood Company out of Savannah Georgia, Georgia Millworks has instant and unlimited access to these raw materials. Georgia Millworks is currently located in Auburn, Georgia operating in a six-thousand square foot streamlined production facility just outside of Gwinnett County.
Georgia Millworks future plans include exploring new markets across the nation, building a larger facility to accommodate a growing demand, stay on the forefront of development and innovation of new products to help propel the future of building and expand our presence as a company that helps give back to the communities that made Georgia millworks what it is today. Through close work with several historic and community groups we have been able to not only concentrate on the future but help preserve the legacy, tradition and authenticity of some of the oldest and finest details of our past. |
